Honest FAQ

The questions everyone Googles privately, answered without judgement or sales pitch.

Are there swingers clubs in Ireland?

Ireland has an active lifestyle scene, but it runs on an events model — recurring club nights at private venues, house parties and hotel takeovers — rather than permanent public premises. Events are shared by email list rather than advertised openly, which is why they're hard to find by searching alone.

Is swinging legal in Ireland?

Yes. Private, consensual activity between adults is lawful in Ireland, and organised private events for consenting adults are legal. Reputable organisers run vetted guest lists and clear conduct rules precisely to keep everything consensual and safe.

What actually happens at a lifestyle event?

Far less than newcomers imagine. Events begin as normal social evenings — drinks, music, conversation — with private areas available later for those who want them. Nothing is expected of anyone; many couples attend their first few events purely socially.

Do we have to do anything at our first event?

No. 'No thank you' is a complete sentence in the scene and is always respected. First-time couples who spend the whole night chatting at the bar are completely normal and completely welcome.

Are single men allowed?

Some events admit limited numbers of single men, usually via a separate ticket tier and stricter vetting. Couples-only nights are also common. Event invitations always state the admission policy.

How does discretion work? Will anyone find out?

Discretion is the scene's core covenant: no photography, no real-name requirements at most events, and an absolute rule that attendees never acknowledge each other outside the scene. Our own list is double opt-in, never shared, and collects nothing beyond an email and optional first name.

What should we wear?

Club nights run smart dress codes — think good restaurant, not nightclub. Themed events state their theme in the invitation. When in doubt, overdress slightly; hosts genuinely do turn away scruffy arrivals.

How do we find events?

Irish events distribute through email lists and word of mouth. Joining a trusted notification list (like ours below) is the standard first step; attending a meet & greet social is the standard second one. From there, the private calendar opens up through the hosts you meet.

How much do events cost?

Typical Irish club nights charge a per-couple entry that covers the venue hire and hosting; hotel takeovers are priced like a hotel weekend plus an event fee. Legitimate organisers are transparent about pricing before you commit — instant-payment pressure is a scam signal.

We're nervous. Is that normal?

Universal. Every couple in the scene once stood outside their first event wondering whether to go in. The scene knows this, which is why hosts look after first-timers, socials exist, and the culture is built around zero pressure. Nerves are the price of admission; they pass by midnight.
